Italy: FLAI CGIL for a fair fishing in Europe

On 22 March, FLAI CGIL took action in Talamone to promote a fair fisheries sector in Europe. The event was the occasion to present a marble block sculpted by Aurora Avvantaggiato. The sculpture will be deposited on the seabed in front of Talamone next month as a message against illegal fishing.

The symbolic initiative has a great value: on the one hand it promotes the protection of the marine ecosystem, by offering a habitat to fish and sea plants, and on the other hand the sculptures act as “warning blocks” to stop fishing that does not respect the rules and the environment.

With this action, we are proudly supporting the work of “La casa dei pesci“.
